This is a proposal for a documentary/ reality show/website/BOOK
called
Southern Rock Pilgrimage http://rockpilgrimage.blogspot.com

Ownership of the title is simple.
IT'S MINE!!!!
I OWN the son of a bitch!

When one googles
"southern rock pilgrimage"

one gets only 4 hits.
THOSE POSTS ARE MINE!
http://rockpilgrimage.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html

I also have a claim to the first use of the term "rock pilgrimage" in the U.S.
but
apparently the term was coined in the U.K. a couple of years before '05.

Each episode of SOUTHERN ROCK PILGRIMAGE will focus upon ONE city.
The city will be THE STAR
& the rockers will be the tour guides.
Their commentary in cemeteries
& at the sites of former crash pads, estates, night clubs, girlfriend's houses, dope dens, recording studios, restaurants, etc. etc. will be accompanied by the appropriate music & archival footage.

All I want is a piece of the action.

The pilot should be shot in Jacksonville
It'll be a little cheap & nasty.

A couple of members of my immediate family invented copper wire fighting over a penny.

In my humble opinion,
this pilot will challenge the frugality of Coen Brothers production practices.
MY NINJAS KNOW HOW TO CUT CORNERS!!!!

Everybody connected will sign a contract.

Best,

1914 DOTHAN FAIR

Robert----since I wrote that email to Frank, we have changed the line up of the City Fest event. Buddy, Chips and the song writers are going to open the show at 7 PM. This will give them plenty of time to cover the multitude of hits they wrote and produced.

Our band, the Strangers, will come on next, with Wilbur Walton coming up and opening with his great version of "The Right String Baby But The Wrong YoYo". He will also do our James Gang version of "Georgia Pines," which was written by Buddy and John Rainey Adkins. Mitch Goodson and Jimmy Watford with sit in with us as well.

Then the Bopcats will take the stage. David Adkins will sit in with them as well as Paul Hornsby, so their musicianship will be a grand way to round out the evening. We'll all pick as long as the audience wants us to, so it should be a heck of an opening for the City Fest event this year.

It should be mentioned that this event is an ALS benefit so everybody is performing free of charge. I had talked to B. J. Thomas, Billy Joe Royal, and the Atlanta Rhythm Section and every one of them agreed to perform free, then the date had to be changed to September 10 and they were all already booked on that date. But they would have been here for us, and that shows what classy guys they are.

Robert~

I knew the five missionaries you mention in your Sam Padilla narrative. They were Wycliffe Bible Translators and visited us in Puebla, Mexico the year before on their way down to their mission in Ecuador.

William~

THAT IS TOO WILD!
I'm confident that we're gonna find Sam soon. Apparently he's living in Washington state. Sam's mother, Dayuma, is still living in Ecuador!

I found this link that tells some of her story. There have been a couple of books written about her amazing story. http://www.colinharbinson.com/dayuma/index.html
