HEY Y'ALL:
Oh my God, did I pay for being off work for a week today.
Hey, if ya can't do the time, don't do the crime!

Boy, I wished I had an alligator farm today! Spring has sprung and the critters are on the prowl. I bet I saw two dozen road kills today in town. The bloody balls of guts on the asphalt included possums, groundhogs, raccoons, rabbits and squirrels. With a little effort, anybody with a shovel and trailer could have made some little gators happy this evening.

Coming back from the beach yesterday, I saw a coyote down in Clarke County standing on the side of the road waiting for the traffic to clear so he could cross. He was antsy as hell but he waited until he could cross.

I got a fix for my "bikini jones" today. The swimming pool opened on campus at noon and every electrician, carpet layer, carpenter and grounds keeper at The University[along with me] drove by the pool this afternoon. The entire corner was jammed with University of Alabama maintenance vehicles. Guess that's one of those government employee[as well as Pake Realty employee] benefits.

Below you will find an email request from Lance Miccio concerning information about CANNED HEAT.

Please, please, pretty please, shoot this off to anyone who can help Lance with this CANNED HEAT screenplay. Old Lance might be a Yankee but he's our damned Yankee & he's the closest thing to Hollywood that "Cuba, Alabama" has got right now!

I know some of you can help even if all you did was see CANNED HEAT like I did at the WVOK Shower of Stars in the fall of '68 when they appeared with The Grass Roots at Boutwell.

Lance has already sold some stuff to the History Channel & with his History of The Hippies along with CANNED HEAT, the boy might be able to bring SOUTHERN ROCK to the Boulevard of Broken Dreams!

HELP LANCE IF YOU CAN!

Best known as the bassist for Canned Heat between 1967-1970, Brooklyn-born Larry Taylor has had a long and distinguished career as a session musician. Lance Miccio

This is Lance inside FURTHER before Zane Kesey http://www.key-z.com/
pulled it out of the swamp last year.

This GONZO UTOPIA reel http://www.happytrailershd.com/reels/gonzoutopia.html
drags a lot so it's probably best to download it, fast forward through the entire film & then play. After I did that, I was able to watch it with no problem. If you remember the Sixties, you gonna love Lance's work!

& LAST BUT NOT LEAST, A KIND WORD FROM OUR OLD PAHDNUH, YOUNG JUNIOR BABY CRIMINAL & DOTHAN TIGER, BUDDY BUIE!

I want to ask everyone to say a prayer for Dean Daughtry. He is undergoing tests to find the cause of his trouble walking.Barry Bailey and his wife seem to be progressing with their health problems but still need your prayers.
I'm proud to say that ARS is still rocking and is moving on. Rodney Justo reported that the band sounded great with the current line up. Steve Stone and Justin Senker have been with ARS for twenty and fifteen years respectively. When you add Dean,a founding member, and Andy, who has been with the group six years cumulatively, THIS AIN'T NO NEW BAND. FUTHERMORE ,ALAN ACARDI IS A GOOD PLAYER.

HEY Y'ALL:
Everybody's mad at me right now because all I did was take a week off from work in order to conduct a holy religious pilgrimage to Dauphin Island so I could contemplate the cosmic meaning of
THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ADVENT OF THE BIKINI!http://www.bikiniscience.com/chronology/1945-1950_SS/LR4601_S/LR4601.html

I would think at least some of you could sympathize with the pain I suffered today at noon when I looked out on the beach for the last time [High temperature: 77 degrees] & sadly pointed my trustee Ford Exploder north to head across the bridge spanning The Mississippi Sound and back to lovely Tuscaloosa.

Got back to the office to find about a hundred emails.

Some of the most interesting stuff came from the yahoogroup CHAMPAGNEJAM.
One of the contributors included the web address for Chuck Rinaldo's website. Chuck once owned two notorious Atlanta rock venues, C.W. Shaw's & Baker Street.

The Mose Jones story took a totally bizarre turn in 2001.
When Randy
was dying in Florida, Bryan Cole and Jimmy O Neil who lived in Atlanta,
went down to pay their last respects to Randy in FL. Upon their return,
they BOTH were admitted to the hospital in serious condition with two
different ailments.
Jimmy O Neil (guitar-MOSE JONES) passed away after
a week in the hospital. Bryan Cole (drums-MOSE JONES) lost a leg but
pulled through and lives today. You couldn't find two sweeter guys in
the world. Steve McRay (keys-MOSE JONES) is the only one who hasn't
been sidelined by this weird Mose Jones "curse", but he was NOT
actually an original member. He replaced Clay Watkins, who decided drug
dealing was more important at the time. He died shortly after making
that decision.
If you couple this with Skynyrd's life losses (Ronnie
Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Allen Collins, Cassie Gaines,
Leon Wilkerson) and the tough fight I myself had in 2001 (lost 2/3 of
my sight and had unrelated brain surgery) you must surely give some
creedence to a SOUNDS OF THE SOUTH curse of some sort.......
Cole, McRay
and Kooper live on nonetheless (....so far)
