This is a map of the locations of the astronomical observatories Andrew Ellicott built during his 1798-1800 survey of the First Southern Boundary of the U.S. This old boundary line is preserved in the present day by the state lines of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida & Georgia. The historical marker commemorating Ellicott's survey that I was responsible for putting up is located on U.S. 231 near the Florida line south of Dothan.
This key describes the map I made by typing out the labels and pasting them onto a map I copied. This was back in '96 before I got real hip about computers. The Ellicott observatory labeled #7 was located on the bank of the Chattahoochee on the present-day Fitch place about 7000 feet north of the Florida line on Ansley Whatley's property east Chattahoochee State Park.
