Somebody with the evacuees here in Tuscaloosa contacted my boss, Lee Pake, yesterday. Lee agreed to let them have five houses for evacuees but they never called back. Lee was wondering who would sign some sort of lease to take legal responsibility .
Archie Bird was also contacted by some of the same people yesterday and he agreed to let them have two houses but nobody has called him back.
Here are the addresses:
1910 and 1920 Ridgehaven on Canyon Lake- go out Highway 11 and turn left at the Parade Station between Cottondale and I-20/59
2722 26th Street: located off 30th Avenue near Kaulton. Ready to move into. Downed tree near front yard. Power on. Water can be turned on illegally. Central air. Three bedrooms.Stove and refrigerator
26O7 21st Street: located down from the jail off 26th Avenue. probably still needs carpet work.Stove and refrigerator. Central air. Power on. Water can be turned on illegally. Could be a four bedroom.
1932 30th Avenue: 1932 30th Avenue: located a block south of Floyd's on 30th Avenue. Lots of trash in the yard. Pretty sure it's ready to move into. Not sure about power. Central air. 3 bedrooms.
#6 Short 24th Ave. E.: just behind the Union Hall off Paper Mill Road [25th Avenue E.]. two bedroom. not sure about power. Tenant just moved out.
10315 Jones Road.: Northport just off Charlie Shirley Road by The Brown Bag. Tenant just moved out, needs cleaning and carpet. I have a lot of new carpet and used rugs.
I also know of some shacks and other places people could be housed.
Let me know how we can get house keys to these people.
