I got to visit with my brother Bill and his wife Kathryn at the old Register family crib on 403 Mortgage Avenue before the Billy Joe Royal Show at Cowboy's in Dothan Friday night & I was so happy to hear about Bill's success with his new business with Nature's Own.

Danny Goldsboro came over & we all had a good rap sitting around the dining room table. Danny lives with his grandmother one door down the block from Bill & Kathryn.
His Daddy Bobby is trying to sell his lake property near Ocala & plans on moving over to the Atlantic coast of Florida. He was in Dothan recently promoting his landscape painting.

Danny said that his mother Mary Alice told him that some of her friends at Lake Martin last weekend had been talking about all the good stuff to be found in ZERO, NORTHWEST FLORIDA so the word must be getting around about US!
That information made me feel good.

Billy Joe Royal's performance on Cowboy's new stage was marvelous & so was the crowd.
He played guitar most of the time & opened the show with Chuck Berry's
C'est La Vie & closed his encore with JOHNNY BE GOOD!
HE ROCKED!
The girls lined up in the aisles to hand him flowers & handkerchiefs for him to wipe the sweat off of his face.

I was seated right up next to the stage at Bill J. Moody's table with Wilbur Walton Jr. sitting at the head of the table along with his old bass player Jimmy Dean, former member of The Webs Larry Coe & Dothan Magazine Publisher Robin Rainer.

After the show we got to hang out with Billy Joe while he was wrapping up business at his autograph table and later we met him out by his bus to say goodbye.
Like Justo said, Billy Joe Royal is totally unencumbered by his fame.
He's an extraordinary artist & just a great guy to hang around with.


Monday morning it rained most of the way back to Tuscaloosa.
I felt a little lost & confused until I saw a sign for High Hopes Road & almost took a detour.
Listened to WBAM-FM http://www.bamacountry989.com/cms/component/option,com_frontpage/Itemid,1/
most of the way to Montgomery.
I really enjoyed The Bear Country Morning Show with Bear O'Brian & Kandy.

Saw some old log tenant houses in Sardis & an old building with a sign REGISTER FARM SUPPLY tacked up on it.
