Christopher has spent the past two weeks hanging out with his Uncle Buddy in the Cottonwood area. His Uncle Buddy allowed him to take the airboat over to Wild Man's Pond so Christopher could take his girlfriend,Carsen, out for a ride.
THAT'S A BIG DEAL IN THIS FAMILY!

I'm thrilled to see you giving Emory Gordy some well deserved attention. He's played an important part in my life.

I met him when Paul Cochran and I moved to Atlanta in 1966 to go into the booking and music publishing business with Bill Lowery

I was a young inexperienced writer and producer and he was a young musician. To call him just a musician is a major understatement. He was a virtuoso who

could play any instrument. He was known as a bass player but played piano, various horns, and wrote arrangements for the orchestra.

He played bass on SPOOKY and STORMY. One day he was doodling on the piano between takes and I asked, "M what is that melody you're

playing?" He said it was nothing and I asked could J.R. and I fool around with it. The next time J.R. and I wrote, we began working on completing

the melody and came up with a working title. The lyric slowly came to fruition and TRACES OF LOVE was born. We had this fixation with 6 letter titles at the

time and shortened TRACES OF LOVE to TRACES. All the first 3 Classics IV hits had 6 letter titles. TRACES has become one of the most

performed songs in the BMI repertoire.

Emory moved to LA to further his career and played with Neal Diamond and later became Elvis Presley's bass player. He was a member of

EmmyLou Harris's Hot Band and moved to Nashville, where he produced Steve Earle , Bill Monroe, Alabama, and Patty Loveless. He is now

married to Patty and they have focused their talents on blue grass.

I was very fortunate to work with him in my formative years.
